The purpose of the present studies was to prepare and characterize and evaluate the colon targeted microsphere of ornidazole for the treatment and management of Amoebasis. The microsphere was preparedby the Emulsion dehydration method. The microspheres were coated with Eudragit S-100 by the solvent evaporation technique to prevent drug release in the stomach. The prepared microspheres were evaluated for Surface morphology, entrapment efficiency, drug loading, micrometric properties and in-vitrodrug release. Micrometric properties showed good flow properties and packability of prepared micorspheres.
